Responsibilities
Summary/Responsibilities of this position:
- Stock and sell products to new and existing retail customers.
- Order products to maximize sales.
- Merchandise, front, and sell products following detailed instructions.
- Work under supervision, applying basic skills relevant to the department.
- Possess specific product knowledge depending on the department.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Providing excellent customer service.
- Organizing, cleaning, and preparing the back area for deliveries.
- Keeping the sales floor tidy and safe.
- Stocking and rotating items to ensure freshness.
- Resetting products and maintaining shelf conditions, including signage and tags.
- Checking shipments for out-of-date or damaged products to ensure quality.
- Complying with federal, state, and company regulations on product safety and sanitation.
- Maintaining standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control.
- Assisting in merchandising to maximize sales.
- Using suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales.
Experience and Education (Preferred)
- 0-2 years of experience.
- Knowledge of department products, food preparation, and equipment is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of specialty foods and food prep.
- Strong customer service skills and passion for food.
- Materials handling certification.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in extreme temperatures.
- Ability to manage materials weighing 25-50 lbs.
