Responsibilities

Summary/Responsibilities of this position:

• Stock and sell products to new and existing retail customers.
• Order assigned products to maximize sales.
• Merchandise, front, and sell products by performing relevant duties.
• Work under supervision with detailed instructions.
• Apply and develop basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment relevant to the department.
• Possess specific product knowledge depending on the department.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing excellent customer service.
• Organizing, cleaning, and preparing the back area for deliveries.
• Keeping the sales floor tidy and free from spills.
• Stocking and rotating items as needed.
• Resetting products and maintaining shelf conditions with proper signage.
• Checking shipments for out-of-date or damaged products to ensure freshness and quality.
• Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company regulations regarding product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation.
• Maintaining standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control.
• Assisting in merchandising to maximize sales.
• Using suggestive selling techniques to boost sales.

Experience and Education

Preferred:

• 0-2 years of experience.
• Knowledge of department products, food preparation, and equipment is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of specialty food products and preparation is essential.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Passion for food.
• Materials handling equipment certification.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
