Job summary

Excel Fitness in Hampton, VA seeks a hands-on Club Operations Leader to support the GM and manage a team of up to 20 Team Players. You will recruit, interview, onboard, train, and continuously develop staff while maintaining our standards, culture, and member experience.

You will monitor KPIs, supervise daily tasks, verify payroll items, oversee inventory, assist with marketing, handle shift schedules, and address issues in real time. CPR/AED certification is required and you must be 18+.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Proven ability to lead, encourage, develop, and supervise the work of others.
• Familiar with Excel mission, values, vision, and culture, as well as the Planet Fitness brand and operational requirements.
• Demonstrated the ability, confidence, and leadership to manage a team.
• Effective communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Must be team oriented, motivated, and well organized.
• Ability to think critically and evaluate solutions to problems proactively.

Responsibilities

• Assist GM in planning and implementing strategies to attract and keep members based on our Excel Core Values and maintain a positive culture.
• Accountable for the hiring process, from selecting candidates, interviewing, to onboarding documentation.
• Train and develop new team members.
• Ensure all Team Players stay up to date on certifications and training requirements.
• Counsel and discipline team member performance; supervise, motivate, and coach staff.
• Monitor KPI goals and metrics for the club and report to GM.
