Job summary

Bentley University is seeking a Men’s Volleyball Assistant Coach to recruit, select, and operate the team alongside the Head Coach and board. You must help schedule practices, be present at all events, and uphold safety and procedural standards per NECVL and Bentley guidelines.

You will assist in skill development, attend league meetings, coordinate game scheduling, and participate in away games and postseason events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 1–3 years coaching or playing experience with a competitive volleyball program.
• Demonstrated leadership with ability to develop a positive playing environment.
• Experience teaching volleyball skills to varying skill levels.
• First Aid and CPR training required.
• Valid US driver’s license with insurable history per Bentley’s policy.

Responsibilities

• Be present during all practices and games, ensuring safety standards.
• Assist head coach with skill development and game strategies.
• Attend league meetings with the Head Coach.
• Schedule games in coordination with NECVL and Head Coach.
• Attend away games and post-season tournaments, including possible overnights.
• Contribute to in-game plans and practice design.
• Represent Bentley University in line with university and athletics mission.
• Counsel team members on volleyball matters and morale.
• Meet with Athletic Department staff on team-related topics.
• Assist with recruitment and awareness efforts for the Club Volleyball program.
