Job Description Summary

Under the direction of the Head Women’s Soccer Coach the Assistant Soccer Coach is responsible for all aspects of assisting the Head Women’s Soccer Coach with the development and administration of a successful NCAA Division II Intercollegiate Soccer Program. The program will be conducted in accordance with all University and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules, regulations, and policies.

Essential Duties
  • Assist the Head Coach in conducting practice and game coaching in compliance with the University and NCAA rules and regulations; prepare effective game strategies; use proven coaching techniques; design and coordinate practice sessions; assist before, during and after competition.
  • Assist in the development of student-athletes and apply innovative coaching techniques to motivate individuals to perform at their peak abilities.
  • Provide appropriate leadership, direction, and supervision related to academic progress and personal development of student-athletes.
  • Assist in recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified prospective student-athletes through scouting, attending tournaments, home visits, and research of opposing teams.
  • Adhere to all conference and NCAA rules/requirements relevant to the intercollegiate program.
  • Assist or coordinate team travel; supervise and transport student athletes.
Other Duties
  • Assist Head Coach with video breakdown and scouting of opponents as requested.
  • Provide individual coaching to athletes needing additional time to maintain and improve their abilities.
  • Communicate with individuals who contact Bentley about the program; answer inquiries via email, telephone, or mail.
  • Maintain positive public relations; represent Bentley professionally as host and visitor to other teams.
  • Perform other administrative or coaching duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 1 year of coaching experience and/or participation at the varsity level.
  • Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley’s insurance carrier.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of innovative and proven coaching strategies and techniques.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a commitment to a positive, productive playing environment.
  • Proven ability to mentor and support student-athletes; commitment to student-athlete welfare.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to NCAA rules relevant to intercollegiate programs.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Flexibility to work evening, weekend, or limited overnight assignments; willingness to travel.
Work Environment

Must be willing to work non-traditional schedules including nights and weekends, and spend a significant amount of time traveling to tournaments for recruiting and other training facilities.

Physical Demand

Physical skill and effort are essential; every practice involves physical effort such as demonstrating skills or conditioning.

Pay Transparency

Salary: $11,826.00, paid over the months worked or on a seasonal schedule.
