Job summary

New York Sports Club is seeking an Assistant General Manager (AGM) to partner with the GM in driving club profitability through member growth, enhanced service, and effective staff development. This non-exempt role requires hands-on leadership on the club floor, sharp operational focus, and a commitment to the NYSC mission of improving lives through fitness.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of management/supervisory experience in fitness, hospitality, or retail with P&L responsibility
• Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, finance, or related field preferred
• Proven ability to lead teams, recruit and onboard staff
• Strong customer service orientation and sales mindset
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee club operations in partnership with GM to drive revenue and profitability
• Manage performance, coach staff, and provide timely feedback
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of club personnel
• Lead by example with a service-based leadership approach
• Ensure high standards of customer experience and brand consistency
• Analyze sales data to meet revenue and KPI targets
• Coordinate scheduling and labor to optimize club operations
