Job summary

24 Hour Fitness in Paramus, NJ seeks a General Manager to lead a high-performing club team, drive membership growth, and optimize operations. You will model our mission and cultivate a welcoming, results-driven culture focused on service and accountability.

You will recruit and coach staff, manage budgets, ensure safety, and strengthen community ties through outreach and member engagement initiatives while delivering exceptional experiences and targets.

Qualifications

• Management experience in retail/hospitality/fitness with a track record of success.
• 2-4 years of progressive management supervising 3-10+ employees.
• Strong service culture and people development.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire; training provided.
• Personal Training certification within 90 days; degree may satisfy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to drive membership sales, fitness, retail, and other revenue streams, exceeding targets.
• Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team with shared goals and a one-team mindset.
• Provide ongoing support, coaching, and leadership to the team, setting clear objectives and delegating responsibilities.
• Drive relations with members by creating a welcoming, community-focused environment that keeps them engaged.
• Oversee day-to-day club operations, including facility maintenance, equipment upkeep, and cleanliness standards.
• Manage budgets, control expenses, and maximize profitability while adhering to policies.
• Implement safety protocols to ensure wellbeing of members and staff.
• Build relationships within the local community and represent the gym at events.
• Develop and execute member retention strategies and engagement programs.
• Promote awareness and compliance with policies and industry regulations.
• Maintain a schedule aligned to peak business hours.
