Job summary

Hunt Valley Country Club in Phoenix, MD is seeking a Club Accountant to manage the property accounting program, including member billing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and weekly financial reporting.

The role requires 2-year accounting education, 3+ years bookkeeping experience, and strong Excel/Office skills. On-site work with collaboration across departments and strict internal controls.

Qualifications

• 2-year accounting degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 1–2 years related experience and/or training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years bookkeeping experience with AP, AR, Payroll and journal entries.
• Experience with upkeep of member files and cash balancing preferred.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process Member and Event billings.
• Process payments, make daily bank deposits and follow up on AR collections.
• Closing and reconciling computerized point of sale system.
• Maintain Membership Program, including set up, removal and change of member information.
• Produce weekly reports and various other financial reports.
• Review department head’s coding of invoices, codes G&A department’s invoices and prepares weekly transmittal log.
• Maintain electronic and manual checkbooks.
• Maintain petty cash funds.
• Review personnel status change forms for completeness and appropriate approvals.
• Compile and send weekly packet to corporate office on time.
• Determine weekly gratuity pool distribution.
• Work closely with Membership Director, General Manager and department heads.
• Maintain compliance with company and standard internal control procedures.
