Beatrice Community Hospital in Beatrice, NE seeks a CLS/Medical Laboratory Technician for the BCH Laboratory. The role covers phlebotomy, testing, specimen handling and result retrieval, with responsibilities for quality control, QA, proficiency testing, instrument maintenance and R&D of new instruments and tests.

The position requires an AS or B.S. in CLS/MLT or equivalent with CLS/MT boards or eligibility, and involves weekend/evening/holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• Associates of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science or Bachelor’s in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology or equivalent.
• Board certification (CLS/MT) or eligible; ASCP or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs all laboratory services including phlebotomy, testing, specimen storage, and result retrieval.
• Conducts quality control and quality assurance; participates in proficiency testing.
• Maintains and troubleshoots instruments; develops new tests and instrument updates.
• Participates in weekend, evening, and holiday rotation.

CLS or Medical Laboratory Technician—BCH Laboratory

Job Duties:

Performs all laboratory services with specific accountabilities in the following functions: phlebotomy, testing, specimen and result storage and retrieval, quality control, quality assurance, proficiency testing, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and research and development of new instruments and tests. Participates in weekend, evening and holiday rotation.

Qualifications:

Associates of Science Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science - Medical Laboratory Technology or Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science - Medical Technology or equivalent and has successfully completed and passed the Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) Boards. ASCP (or equivalent) or eligible. 1 year experience preferred.

Shift Schedule:

Full-Time, Monday-Thursday, 8:00pm-6:00am
