Job summary

Scientific Games is seeking a self-motivated Systems Engineer to join our Technical Operations team. You will support Linux Ubuntu servers, SQL/PostgreSQL databases, and AWS cloud services, while collaborating with Infrastructure, Development, and Testing teams to ensure platform reliability.

You will handle deployments, monitoring, security, and on-call rotations to deliver high-availability lottery solutions. A bachelor’s degree and 3+ years’ experience in a similar role are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in a system administration role in a high-demand, highly available environment.
• Extensive background with Linux Ubuntu servers and command line/scripting.

Responsibilities

• Support new customer implementations and maintain existing solutions.
• Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with system availability, latency, or performance.
• Ensure system capacity is monitored and considered in planning.
• Identify and address system security concerns.
• Ensure incidents are managed within SLAs.
• Define, refine and track Service Level Objectives.
• Setup and maintain monitoring and document alarms in Knowledge Base.
• Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation.
