Job summary

Scientific Games, LLC is seeking a highly capable Systems Engineer to join a growing Technical Operations team supporting our lottery solutions. You will work on product releases and upgrades, ensuring reliability on Linux Ubuntu servers, PostgreSQL/SQL databases, and AWS cloud services.

You will triage issues, monitor capacity, and address security concerns while collaborating with infrastructure, development, and testing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences or similar preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in a system administration role in a high demand, highly available environment.
• Extensive background with Linux Ubuntu servers; command line, bash scripting, basic configurations.
• Strong background supporting AWS or similar cloud environments.
• Containerization experience with Docker or Podman; Kubernetes desired as well.
• Solid understanding of SQL Server or PostgreSQL database engines including configuration, data analysis, and replication including AOAG.
• Automation scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash or Python.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills and knowledge of common protocols (SFTP, SSH, SMTP, DNS, HTTP/S).
• Proven communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Time management and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Support new customer implementations and maintain existing solutions.
• Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with system availability, latency, or performance.
• Ensure system capacity is monitored and considered in planning.
• Identify and address system security concerns.
• Ensure incidents are managed within agreed SLAs.
• Define, refine and track Service Level Objectives.
• Set up and maintain monitoring of systems and document alarms in Knowledge Base Articles.
• Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation.

Position Summary

Scientific Games is looking for a self-motivated, experienced Systems Engineer to join a small but growing Technical Operations team that supports our lottery solutions. Our team works closely with our Infrastructure, Development, and testing teams, identifying issues while also suggesting and implementing corrective actions. You will work on both standard support issues - ensuring a smooth operation of our platform, and on project specific work including new product releases, enhancements and upgrades of the product for existing and new customers. Our environment is predominantly powered by Linux Ubuntu servers, SQL/PostgreSQL databases, and AWS cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Support new customer implementations as well as support and maintain existing customer solutions.
• Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with system availability, latency, or performance.
