Job summary

BOAB Ventures seeks a seasoned Systems Engineer to join its Cloud team at Scott Air Force Base. The role centers on leading complex cloud architecture initiatives that emphasize security, scalability, and resiliency for DoD-aligned environments.

The candidate will apply deep AWS expertise, Red Hat Linux, and firewall management to design, migrate, and optimize cloud solutions, while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of relevant experience in systems engineering or cloud engineering.
• Proven experience designing and deploying cloud solutions as a cloud architect/engineer.
• Proficient with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and command-line administration.
• Expert experience with next-generation firewall deployment, configuration, and management (Palo Alto).
• In-depth experience with AWS Cloud, including Networking, VPNs, VPCs, Transit Gateway.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and hands-on development of cloud solution architectures focused on security, scalability, and resiliency.
• Plan, design, and manage migration, re-platforming, integration, implementation, and operations of complex cloud environments.
• Ensure cloud services comply with DoD guidelines and security requirements.
• Develop testing for cloud and virtualization systems and mentor junior team members.
