Job summary

NV5, Inc. is seeking a mission-focused Systems Administrator with active DoD clearance to support AWS GovCloud workloads for DoD classified environments at Scott Air Force Base, Belleville, IL. This on-site role requires expertise in secure cloud architectures and DoD cybersecurity standards.

You will design, deploy, and maintain GovCloud infrastructure, enforce Zero Trust, and collaborate with assurance teams to ensure ATO readiness and continuous monitoring.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
• IAT Level II or III certification (Security+ CE, CASP+, CISSP).
• 3+ years of hands-on systems administration in AWS GovCloud.
• Experience managing secure workloads in GovCloud.
• Knowledge of RMF, STIGs, NIST 800-53 controls.
• Automation with scripting and IaC (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain AWS GovCloud (US) infrastructure for DoD workloads at IL4/IL5/IL6.
• Ensure compliance with RMF, STIGs, FedRAMP High, and NIST 800-53.
• Design and manage EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, and VPC in GovCloud.
• Implement Zero Trust Architecture with robust IAM and MFA.
• Patch, back up, log, and run compliance scans with DoD-approved tools.
• Support ATO packages, POA&Ms, and continuous monitoring activities.
• Implement logging/alerting using CloudWatch, Config, Security Hub; integrate SIEM (Splunk/ELK).
• Provide Tier 3 support; perform RCA and assist incident response.
• Maintain documentation, diagrams, and SOPs for GovCloud operations.
