Job summary

NV5 Geospatial seeks a mission-focused Systems Administrator with deep AWS GovCloud experience to support DoD cloud infrastructure at IL4/IL5/IL6. Architect, manage, secure, and maintain resilient systems ensuring compliance with DoD regulations and security frameworks.

Location is Scott AFB, Belleville, IL; travel up to 20%. Active DoD Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred. Responsibilities include IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, SIEM integration, and Zero Trust enforcement.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance; TS/SCI preferred.
• IAT Level II or III certification.
• 3+ years of hands-on systems administration in AWS GovCloud.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud services: EC2, IAM, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudWatch.
• Proficiency with Windows Server.
• Knowledge of RMF, DISA STIGs, NIST 800-53.
• Automation scripting and IaC (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Centralized logging/alerting in AWS; SIEM exposure.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain AWS GovCloud infrastructure for DoD workloads (IL4/IL5/IL6).
• Ensure compliance with DoD standards including RMF, STIGs, and NIST 800-53 controls.
• Design/manage EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC in classified environments.
• Implement Zero Trust Architecture and strong IAM, MFA, RBAC.
• Manage patching, backups, logging, and compliance scans with DoD-approved tools.
• Collaborate on ATO packages, POA&Ms, and continuous monitoring.
• Implement logging/alerting with CloudWatch, AWS Config, Security Hub; interface with SIEM.
• Provide Tier 3 support and root-cause analysis.
