Job summary

Amazon S3 Index is seeking a Software Development Engineer to help build the next generation of S3 index systems that manage trillions of objects with extreme durability and availability. You will design, implement, and operate large-scale distributed services in support of S3's metadata challenges, with ownership conscience and a strong testing culture.

You will work across teams to deliver reliable, scalable software for a 24x7 cloud service, participate in on-call rotations, and mentor

Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.
1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

Develop software for durability and availability of key-value metadata in S3 Index.
Contribute to high-availability 7x24 service with ownership and on-call rotation.
Mentor and participate in code reviews to uphold high standards.
Collaborate with teams to maintain test automation and design reviews to ensure reliability and performance.
