Job summary

Sonar, based in Austin, TX, seeks an experienced engineering leader to head Cloud Operations and Site Reliability Engineering. You will guide the Cloud Engineers and SREs, shape the production platform, and drive reliability, performance, and security across SonarQube Cloud and Server.

This role offers hands-on governance, collaboration with cross-functional squads, and mentorship, with emphasis on blameless post-mortems, cost optimization, and scalable architectures in a fast-growing AI

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with a focus on SRE, cloud operations, or infrastructure engineering.
• Deep understanding of DevOps/SRE mindset and mission-critical shared services.
• Experience with AWS and large-scale infrastructure management.
• IaC experience with Python, CDK, Terraform and code reviews for infrastructure.
• Observability, resiliency, and disaster recovery planning demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Cloud Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers.
• Ensure high reliability, performance, and security of production platforms.
• Oversee on-call, incident response, and automation to reduce toil.
• Promote blameless post-mortems and share architectural insights.
• Collaborate with value stream squads to meet developer needs with governance.
• Define squad vision aligned to platform roadmap and cost optimization.
• Partner with Hiring to recruit engineers and build team capacity.
• Lead by example with servant leadership and high-stakes decision-making.
