Job summary

Palo Alto Networks seeks a Principal Site Reliability Engineer for the ADEM team. You will support end-to-end visibility, self-healing capabilities, and a cloud-native stack using Terraform, Kubernetes, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Docker, GCP/AWS, Vault, Kafka, MySQL, Python, Bash, and Go.

You will drive CI/CD, design golden paths for service delivery, and develop IaC/MaC tooling while ensuring SLOs and robust security practices across global services.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen required due to federal government requirements.
• 7+ years in infrastructure, operations, DevOps, or system engineering.
• Experience with AI productivity tools for development (e.g., Claude code, Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot).
• Cloud-native apps on GCP (preferred) or AWS.
• Proficient in Terraform, Helm, Ansible and IaC principles.
• Strong Python/Go/Java; Kafka or Pulsar is a plus.
• Kubernetes (GKE/EKS), container networking, Linux internals; GitOps with GitLab CI & ArgoCD.
• Familiar with FedRAMP, SOC2 and policy-as-code.

Responsibilities

• Drive SRE and DevOps through CI/CD and AIOps initiatives toward self-healing infrastructure.
• Architect Golden Paths for service delivery with SLOs, error budgets and canaries.
• Design, build and operate reliable cloud infrastructure for synthetic monitoring and RUM.
• Ensure applications are production-ready, scalable and resilient with cross-functional collaboration.
• Develop IaC and Monitoring as Code tooling and frameworks.
• Lead RCA of critical issues to prevent recurrence.
