Job summary

Sonos is recruiting for a Cloud Engineer to advance our cloud technology stack and deliver new features for customers. The role combines cloud development with AI-assisted coding, DevOps, and cross-functional collaboration in an agile team.

The position is hybrid with three days in the Boston office, and applicants must reside within commuting distance to Boston. Base pay is discussed with location during hiring, with a focus on base salary in the posted range.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1-4 years of server-side development experience using Node.js/Java or similar.
• Experience with at least one public cloud stack (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with agile software development teams.
• Object-oriented design and REST/JSON API development.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop cloud-based software solutions used by customer systems and internal/partner services.
• Leverage Generative AI tools to accelerate code generation, testing, and debugging.
• Participate in all SDLC phases from planning to unit testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment; assist with user stories, reviews.
• Support production services in a DevOps setup, including monitoring, deployments, and on-call handling.
• Contribute to security, scalability, cost optimization, and performance initiatives.
• Create automated tests and deployment processes integrated with CI tools.
• Partner with teams in a highly collaborative environment.
