Responsibilities
- The Cloud Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex Big‑Data Cloud systems based upon documented requirements.
- Directly contributes to all stages of back‑end processing, analyzing and indexing.
- Provides expertise in Cloud Computing, Hadoop ecosystem, Java application implementation, Distributed Computing, Information Retrieval, and Object‑Oriented Design.
- Works individually or as part of a team.
- Reviews and tests software components for adherence to design requirements and documents test results.
- Resolves software problem reports.
- Utilizes appropriate software development and software design methodologies.
- Provides input to system design regarding hardware/software trade‑offs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS, and requirements analysis from system level to component level.
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with Polysecurity clearance required.
- Level 2 Cloud Software Engineer: in‑depth knowledge of Information Retrieval; assists the development team in designing, developing, and testing Cloud Information Retrieval.
- Implements complex workflows managing Cloud MapReduce analytics.
- Implements code that interacts with Cloud Distributed Coordination Frameworks.
- Oversees one or more software development tasks, ensuring work completes within development process constraints.
- Recommends improvements to documentation and software development process standards.
- Current TS/SCI with polygraph.
- Eight years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity; two years in programs utilizing Big‑Data Cloud technologies and/or Distributed Computing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college/university, or four additional years of cloud software engineering experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
