Job Overview

Nightwing provides advanced cyber, data operations, systems integration and intelligence support services to the U.S. government. We are seeking a Level 3 Cloud Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance complex Big‑Data Cloud systems, utilizing Hadoop, distributed computing, and cloud‑based analytics.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve large‑scale Big‑Data Cloud applications based on documented requirements.
• Contribute to all stages of back‑end processing, including analysis and indexing.
• Provide expertise in Cloud Computing, Hadoop ecosystem, Java application development, distributed computing, information retrieval, and object‑oriented design.
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
• Resolve software problem reports and ensure quality control of all developed and modified software.
• Provide specific input to system design, including hardware/software trade‑offs and reuse of COTS/GOTS solutions.
• Implement complex workflows that manage Cloud MapReduce analytics.
• Develop code that interacts with Cloud Distributed Coordination Frameworks.
• Debug issues in Cloud‑based distributed computing frameworks and manage multi‑node Cloud installations.
• Oversee one or more development tasks, delegate programming and testing responsibilities, and monitor team performance.
• Select and recommend software development processes in coordination with customers and system engineering.
• Recommend new technologies and processes for complex cloud software projects.
• Architect solutions for efficiently processing and retrieving large amounts of data.
• Make recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with polygraph required.
• 12 years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Big‑Data Cloud technologies and/or distributed computing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited institution, or four (4) years of additional cloud software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes.
• Expert or mastery level knowledge of cloud computing and related disciplines.

Salary & Benefits

Salary range: $122,000 – $253,000, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and expertise.
