Job summary

Visionist, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer in Columbia, MD to support a critical mission system and run analytics on a new big data streaming analytic platform using Java, Docker, and microservice architectures.

You will join a small, expert team that collaborates with analysts, design, and deployment, and you will work on patches and updates in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment. This role requires active TS/SCI clearance and offers robust benefits and compensation.

Qualifications

• 6 years of experience in software development
• Willingness to obtain one of the following certifications (Visionist will pay for the exam and studying time): AWS Certified Developer—Associate, AWS Certified Machine Learning—Associate, AWS Certified Machine Learning—Specialty, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, CKAD
• Experience with Java, Docker, and Microservice Architecture
• Experience with streaming data frameworks (Flink, Spring Cloud Data Flow, Heron)
• Experience with Version Control (Git, SVN)
• Familiarity with agency data flow formats and standards
• Interest in working on a small expert team that communicates regularly with analysts and willingness to take on tasks from requirements gathering and design to deployment

• Willingness to obtain one of the following certifications (Visionist will pay for the exam and studying time if selected):

  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
• Experience with Java, Docker, and Microservice Architecture

• Experience with Version Control (Git, SVN)
• Familiarity with agency data flow formats and standards

Salary range: $135,000 - $206,000
