Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in the United States is seeking an experienced Security Incident Response Engineer to help customers respond to security incidents and automate security operations at cloud scale from Herndon, VA.

You will collaborate with AWS service teams to design and deploy threat detection and incident response solutions, mentor colleagues and customers, and contribute to new consulting models while being on-call.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of scripting, programming, and security code review (non-internship).
• Bachelor's degree in STEM or 2+ years IT security experience.
• Experience troubleshooting systems, analyzing logs, or automating tasks via command line.
• Experience working on a CSIRT or PSIRT.
• Familiarity with AI tools and automation in security.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee incident response operations.
• Become a deep technical resource trusted by stakeholders before, during, and after a security event.
• Contribute to teams to build and deploy threat detection and incident response capabilities.
• Design, build, and deploy solutions to automate security operations and incident response on AWS.
• Mentor and invest in consultants, partners, and customers to raise the bar for our customers.
• On-call required.
