Job summary

Amazon AWS Security is seeking a Security Engineer for the Customer Incident Response Team (CIRT) to scale incident response and threat detection across services and customers. You will collaborate with Amazonians, partners, and customers to deploy automated security operations on AWS and contribute to consulting engagements.

On-call duties are part of the role. The position offers opportunities to mentor teammates and shape security practices while working on high-impact, cloud-scale security

Qualifications

• 2+ years of scripting, programming, and security code review experience in a common language.
• Bachelor's degree in STEM or 2+ years of IT security experience.
• Experience troubleshooting systems, analyzing logs, or automating tasks via command line.
• Experience in CSIRT or PSIRT.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee incident response operations.
• Be a deep technical resource earning trust before, during, and after a security event.
• Independently contribute to teams to build and deploy threat detection and incident response capabilities.
• Design, build, and deploy solutions to automate security operations on AWS.
• Independently contribute to internal builder projects to develop new consulting engagement models and capabilities for customers.
• Develop high-quality content, such as automation tools, reference architectures, and white papers to help our consultants, partners, and customers build on the work that we deliver.
• On-call required.
