Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Security Compliance Specialist II to join the Security Architecture and Engineering Team. You will partner with engineering, security, and business teams to implement and maintain compliance with industry and regulatory frameworks.

You will evaluate controls, collect evidence, identify gaps, and drive remediation efforts while leveraging your cloud and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in security, compliance, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
• Understanding of cloud concepts and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Akamai Cloud/Linode).
• Familiarity with security concepts including IAM, networking, encryption, logging, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, NIST, HIPAA).
• Experience using GRC platforms (ServiceNow IRM, Archer, AuditBoard).

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering teams to assess the implementation of security controls.
• Evaluate compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and HIPAA.
• Collect, validate, and organize audit evidence for reviews.
• Perform control testing to verify processes operate effectively.
• Track remediation activities and assist system owners with findings.
• Review architecture diagrams, SOPs, and change records.
