Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager for its Cloud Security Engineering team within the Security & Trust Organization.

You will lead and operate cloud security services across major platforms, partnering with IT, cloud operations, and business units to advance security at scale. You will shape strategy, define roadmaps, mentor engineers, and champion AI adoption to automate work and strengthen security outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of engineering experience, including technical leadership.
2+years of experience directly leading engineering teams, including coaching, performance management, career development, and stakeholder communication.
5+ years of experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI), including cloud architectures, APIs, and integrations with the ability to assess technical tradeoffs and guide architecture decisions.
Knowledge of cloud security and governance principles, including identity and access management, security controls, policy enforcement, and risk remediation.
Experience leading the delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of cloud or security services within an enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop an engineering team through hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development.
Identify emerging security needs and capability gaps while shaping strategy and technical roadmaps for new and existing cloud security capabilities.
Own technical direction, delivery, and engineering quality, leading the team to develop and improve cloud security capabilities and integrate AI to strengthen security outcomes.
Champion AI adoption across the team to improve analysis, automate routine work, and streamline operations.
Establish engineering and operational standards across assigned services, using metrics to improve delivery, service quality, adoption, and security effectiveness.
Partner with program managers, IT, cloud operations, and business units to define requirements, resolve dependencies, and communicate progress and delivery tradeoffs.
