Upwind Security is seeking a Security Engineer to join our MDR team as the founding U.S. member of the Security organization.

In this on-site role in Boston, you will focus on proactive reviews and providing advanced guidance to customers, while independently owning U.S.-hours coverage. You will collaborate with analysts, researchers, and engineers to fine-tune detection, lead complex investigations, and translate findings into practical recommendations, helping our growing startup strengthen

Qualifications

• Hands-on cybersecurity with focus on cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of detection engineering and incident response.
• Ability to explain attack techniques (supply chain, API, malware, runtime).

Responsibilities

• Assist in fine-tuning detection and response mechanisms.
• Lead security investigations and develop playbooks for future detection.
• Collaborate with analysts, researchers, and engineers to improve detection quality.
• Own complex incidents escalated from Tier 1/2, including high-pressure customer engagements.
• Translate security findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
