Job summary

RVO Health is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to protect our cloud infrastructure, applications, and data. You will lead security controls, posture management, and CI/CD security across a modern, cloud-native stack in a hybrid Charlotte environment.

You’ll partner with engineering teams, drive automation, and contribute to HIPAA/NIST-aligned policies while staying ahead of evolving healthcare threats and vulnerabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in application security, cloud security, or related cybersecurity role.
• Solid understanding of cloud security principles, architectures, and services (AWS/Azure).
• Hands-on with cloud security posture management tools and driving findings to closure.
• Experience building security automation, tooling, and integrations; proficient in at least one scripting language.
• Knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and regulations (NIST CSF, HIPAA, MITRE ATT&CK).
• Strong problem-solving/analytical skills; able to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls and architectures for cloud infra, apps, and data.
• Improve cloud security posture and vulnerability management across engineering teams.
• Build and enforce software supply chain controls and guardrails.
• Extend security into CI/CD pipelines, including AI-authored code governance.
• Develop automation and integrations with the developer platform and security stack.
• Collaborate with Platform & Software Engineering to raise visibility of security issues.
• Perform security assessments, code reviews, and security testing.
• Participate in weekly on-call rotation for detections and incidents.
• Develop and maintain security SOPs and policies (HIPAA, NIST CSF).
• Stay informed on threats in healthcare tech and adapt strategies/tools accordingly.
