Job summary

Altium Limited is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to own security engineering across AWS commercial and GovCloud environments. You will design the security posture, automate detections, and manage threat intelligence to harden multi-tenant and regulated environments.

The role requires 5+ years in security engineering with deep AWS expertise and hands-on CI/CD security, Terraform, and container security. The position is hybrid in Los Angeles, CA, with in-office days three per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years of hands-on security engineering, cloud security, or DevSecOps with production ownership.
• Deep AWS security expertise (IAM, KMS, VPC, GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, Config, WAF).
• Experience threat detection and threat hunting across cloud, application, and identity telemetry.
• Experience operationalizing threat intelligence to drive proactive defense.
• Strong logging, monitoring, and security reporting background.
• IaC and container security experience (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable in autonomous, fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate the security posture of AWS commercial and GovCloud environments.
• Proactively hunt across cloud, application, and identity telemetry for adversarial activity.
• Operationalize threat intelligence against attack surfaces and hardening plans.
• Architect centralized logging, SIEM, and security monitoring; own alerting pipelines and dashboards.
• Implement and administer security tooling (CSPM, vulnerability management, secrets).
• Secure CI/CD pipelines and container/Kubernetes workloads from build to runtime.
• Build security as code with Terraform and policy-as-code; automated guardrails.
• Collaborate with CISO leadership to evidence SOC 2, ITAR, GovCloud controls.
• Contribute to AI-augmented detection engineering and incident response improvements.
