Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the Elastic VMware Service (EVS) team in Seattle, WA. You will design and build distributed systems at cloud scale, focusing on VMware-based workloads on AWS.

You will own features end-to-end, from requirements and design to deployment and operations, with a strong emphasis on customer outcomes. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of professional software development, experience with large-scale systems, and proficiency in C#, C++, Java, or

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• As a Software Development Engineer on the Amazon Elastic VMware Service (EVS) team, you will obsess over customers, delivering first‑class experiences by understanding their challenges and crafting solutions that exceed expectations.
• You’ll take ownership of ambiguous problems, from architecting distributed systems at cloud scale to resolving complex integration issues, defining problem spaces and delivering robust solutions.
• Your work spans the complete software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
