Job summary

Black Duck Software, Inc. is seeking a Server Engineer to join the IT team supporting the global infrastructure, helping maintain availability, performance, and security of corporate systems.

You will work on physical servers, virtualization, storage, backup, and cloud services, participate in migrations and deployments, and collaborate with security, cloud, and application teams. The role includes on-call shifts and ongoing improvements to automation and IaC workflows.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years enterprise infrastructure experience.
• Experience administering Windows Server and Linux.
• Hands-on virtualization experience (VMware, Proxmox, Hyper‑V, OpenStack, KVM).
• Experience cloud exposure (AWS, Azure).
• Automation/Scripting with PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation, maintenance, and operation of infrastructure platforms including physical servers, virtualization, storage, backup, and cloud-hosted services.
• Assist lifecycle management for server hardware and infrastructure platforms, including deployment, upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and decommissioning.
• Support virtualization platforms including VMware, Proxmox, Hyper‑V, OpenStack, KVM, or equivalent technologies.
• Support enterprise storage solutions including SAN,NAS, replication, and capacity management.
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions to meet business continuity objectives.
• Maintain Windows and Linux server environments, including patching, automation, and operational support.
• Monitor performance, capacity, availability, and reliability; escalate issues as needed.
• Participate in automation and IaC using Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, etc.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects and cloud initiatives with cross-functional teams.
• Assist in documentation and operational procedures.
