Job summary

Black Duck Software, Inc. is seeking a Server Engineer to join a global IT team. You will help maintain availability, performance, and security across corporate systems, participating in migrations, upgrades, and deployments while providing technical support to colleagues.

The role emphasizes Windows and Linux server administration, virtualization, storage, backup, DR, and cloud work with AWS/Azure, and automation using IaC tools. Occasional on-call duties apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure or systems administration.
• Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise virtualization (VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V, OpenStack, KVM).
• Experience managing server hardware and data center infrastructure.
• Knowledge of SAN/NAS, replication, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
• Experience with backup, recovery, DR, and BC solutions.
• Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Automation and IaC using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform or similar.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and deliver projects in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support infrastructure platforms including servers, virtualization, storage, backup, and cloud-hosted services.
• Assist with lifecycle management of server hardware and platforms (deployment, upgrades, patching, decommissioning).
• Maintain virtualization platforms (VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V, OpenStack, KVM).
• Support enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, replication, capacity management).
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery to meet business continuity needs.
• Maintain Windows and Linux server environments (patching, automation, maintenance).
• Monitor performance, capacity, availability, and reliability; escalate as needed.
• Participate in automation and IaC using Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python.
