This is an opportunity to lead a Professional Services team (also known as Field Engineering), helping customers understand and implement Canonical's open source solutions in public clouds and data centers. The team works across cloud offerings from Ubuntu to virtualization, private cloud, Kubernetes, and open source solutions like MLops platforms and data platforms. As Canonical expands into new industries, we design and develop new open source solutions to meet diverse needs.
We believe Engineering Managers should be outstanding engineers, comfortable troubleshooting and engaging in technical presales. They should contribute technically but focus more on guiding team direction, focus, and delivery. We also train engineers interested in soft skills to become managers.

The Field Engineering team designs private and public cloud solutions, deploying and handing over solutions like Openstack, MicroCloud, Ceph, Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Spark, PostgreSQL, etc. Managers oversee technical delivery, participate in presales, and manage team growth and collaboration.
