The role of a Cloud Professional Services Manager at Canonical

The Field Engineering team consists of cloud solutions architects working directly with customers to design private and public cloud solutions tailored to their workloads. The portfolio includes on-premise solutions like Openstack, MicroCloud, Ceph, and deployable solutions such as Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Spark, PostgreSQL. Managers and team members deploy, test, and hand over solutions, and participate in presales conversations to provide technical advice.

A Cloud Professional Services Manager is responsible for line management, career guidance, developing engineering talent, representing the team technically, and driving collaboration with other teams and customers. Active participation in technical presales is also expected.

  • Represent your team and products to stakeholders, partners, and customers
  • Develop and promote excellent engineering and organizational practices

What we are looking for in you

  • Practical Linux and networking skills
  • Experience in technical presales
  • Dynamic personality, eager to engage in new projects and interact with people
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Passion for developing and growing people
  • Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring engineers
  • Organizational skills to ensure timely, high-quality results
  • Strong academic background

Additional skills that you might also bring
  • Spanish or French language skills (preferred)
  • Python knowledge
  • Experience collaborating with external partners
  • Experience working with internal teams and providing stakeholder feedback
