Job summary

Alt is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to build and maintain cloud infrastructure and deployment systems in a production AWS environment. You will own incidents, strengthen identity and access controls, and design scalable solutions for the team.

The role emphasizes Terraform-powered deployments, on-call rotations, and documenting platform patterns to establish reusable engineering standards across the stack.

Qualifications

• Experience running production systems on AWS.
• PostgreSQL expertise: row-level security, migrations on live data, backups.
• Built authentication, access control, or audit systems.
• Ability to design solutions so engineers can focus on their work.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure and deployment systems.
• Strengthen security through identity management, access controls, and secrets handling.
• Stand up alerting, paging, and an on-call rotation with HIPAA and SOC 2 evidence.
• Keep Terraform, CI, and the merge queue fast and safe as code volume grows.
• Document platform patterns and establish reusable engineering standards.
