Job summary

D2 Technical Services is seeking a skilled Hybrid Cloud Platform Engineer to join a collaborative Agile team building a large-scale PaaS for an Intelligence Community customer. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and a strong foundation in OpenShift and cloud-native technologies.

You will operate OpenShift across security domains, deploy to new sites, support Crossplane, Kyverno, and GitOps, and collaborate with security and engineering teams to deliver secure‑by‑design data services

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of developer or platform engineering experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, CCNA).

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Red Hat OpenShift environments across security domains (cloud and on‑prem).
• Support Crossplane, Kyverno, and Red Hat GitOps frameworks.
• Deploy OpenShift to new sites as platform expands.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams to scale the platform.
• Partner with Security teams to ensure secure‑by‑design solutions.
• Manage data services (RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL, Elastic Stack).
• Write clear documentation for teammates and future maintainers.

ACTIVE TS/SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED

About This Role

We're looking for a skilled Hybrid Cloud Platform Engineer to join a collaborative Agile team building and maintaining a large-scale Platform as a Service (PaaS) capability for an Intelligence Community customer. This is mission-critical work — you'll be helping teams across multiple security domains deploy applications and data services on a modern, cloud-native platform.

What You'll Do

• Operate and maintain Red Hat OpenShift environments across multiple security domains — both in the cloud and on-premises (vSphere)
• Support key OpenShift frameworks including Crossplane, Kyverno, and Red Hat GitOps
• Deploy OpenShift to new sites as the platform expands
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to understand integration needs and scale the platform accordingly
• Partner with Security teams to ensure compliance and build secure‑by‑design solutions
• Manage data services including RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL, and the Elastic Stack
• Write clear, thorough documentation to support teammates and future maintainers

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 5–8 years of developer or platform engineering experience
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (one of the following): Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA

Nice to Have (but not all required — bring what you have!):

• Hands‑on experience deploying and managing Red Hat OpenShift in cloud or vSphere environments
• Familiarity with AWS
• Scripting skills in Python or Shell, and comfort with Git
• Experience with Linux (RHEL/RHCOS, CentOS)
• CI/CD experience using GitLab CI or Jenkins
• Knowledge of container technologies — Docker, Kubernetes, and the broader CNCF ecosystem
