Job summary

Gartner is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join the Cloud Center of Excellence. You will design and implement automated cloud infrastructure, build scalable deployment pipelines, and ensure security, resilience, and high availability in AWS and Kubernetes environments.

You will collaborate with developers, architects, and operations to translate complex requirements into automated, repeatable solutions, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to global standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related field
• 2+ years in AWS cloud, automation, or orchestration roles
• Experience with containers, Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless functions
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools like Terraform/CloudFormation
• Exposure to GitOps practices
• Scripting experience (Python, Shell, Groovy) preferred
• AWS and Kubernetes certifications are a plus
• Full stack knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex product requirements into automated solutions
• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure as code (IaC)
• Build reusable pipelines for application deployments
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and highly available in the cloud
• Develop and test automated backup, disaster recovery, and multi-region procedures
• Provide documentation, runbooks, and architectural diagrams
• Mentor junior engineers and educate product teams on automation best practices
• Triage and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments
• Monitor and instrument all deployed solutions for reliability and performance
• Drive adoption of best practices and cloud-native patterns
