Job summary

Gartner, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Center of Excellence engineer to automate IT infrastructure and streamline cloud-based tasks using AWS, containers, and open-source tools.

You will build scalable pipelines, maintain infrastructure as code, and mentor teams across regions. Responsibilities include designing secure, highly available cloud solutions, automating backups and disaster recovery, and collaborating with architects to improve tools and standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in AWS cloud, automation development, and/or orchestration.
• Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless functions.
• Knowledge of infra automation tools (Terraform/CloudFormation) and GitOps.
• Good scripting experience (Python, Shell, Groovy) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional team to translate requirements into automated solutions.
• Support and improve architecture, systems, processes, standards and tools.
• Lead technical discussions for secure, highly available cloud deployments.
• Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code for servers, storage, networks and security.
• Build reusable deployment pipelines.
• Develop and test automated backup and disaster recovery across multiple regions.
• Write documentation, runbooks and operational standards.
• Assist development teams with automated application configurations.
• Ensure monitoring and instrumentation of all solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex issues in dev/test/prod environments.
• Design scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Continuously identify, adopt, & refine best practices.
• Educate/mentor product teams and junior engineers.
