Job summary

The Swift Group invites a Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-based infrastructure and software platforms. You will work hands-on with AWS, Kubernetes, and modern automation tools on mission-critical systems.

The role requires strong Linux, cloud engineering, and automation fundamentals, with collaboration across teams to deliver robust, secure solutions and repeatable pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or Software Development (Python, Go, or similar).
• Experience developing and deploying infrastructure in AWS.
• Proficient with Linux systems administration, networking, and shell scripting (Bash/Shell).
• Experience with Kubernetes or related container orchestration technologies.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail and reliability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• US citizenship with an active Secret clearance; will also accept Top Secret, TS/SCI, or TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• Must be able to obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of hire.
• Must be available to work on-site 4-5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based and hybrid infrastructure solutions in AWS environments.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar frameworks.
• Support deployment and management of containerized applications using Kubernetes or similar technologies.
• Contribute to the development of custom software components and integration of open-source solutions to meet mission needs.
• Apply software engineering best practices across build, deployment, and operations lifecycles.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement secure, automated, and repeatable pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins).
• Troubleshoot complex systems issues across cloud, network, and platform layers.
• Work within Agile development frameworks to support rapid iteration, feedback, and continuous delivery.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives that increase reliability, maintainability, and performance of mission systems.
