Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer in Madison, WI to design and evolve scalable cloud and hybrid infrastructure, establishing standards and automated platform capabilities that improve reliability and operational excellence.

The role requires 5+ years in infrastructure or site reliability, 3+ years in cloud-based infra, and experience with IaC, containers, Kubernetes, and enterprise observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, or related discipline.
• 3+ years experience developing or supporting cloud-based infrastructure and services using public cloud platforms
• 2+ years of experience implementing infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale cloud platforms in a production environment.
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives and delivering solutions to address business and technology needs.

Responsibilities

• Designs and evolves enterprise cloud platform capabilities across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Develops and maintains infrastructure automation frameworks and reusable platform capabilities.
• Establishes cloud platform architectures and technical standards for security, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Engineers and supports shared platform services across connectivity, identity, observability, and foundational infrastructure.
• Develops self-service platform capabilities and standardized deployment patterns to improve delivery speed and consistency.
• Leads container platform and orchestration capabilities to support modern application deployment and platform modernization.
• Drives cloud governance, resource management, and optimization for cost transparency and sustainable growth.
