Job summary

Walgreens is seeking an experienced cloud engineering leader to design and implement infrastructure for our Azure and private cloud environments. You will act as hands-on engineer and technical architect, building scalable multi-region platforms while partnering with Enterprise Architecture and Security.

You will mentor engineers and help drive infrastructure as code initiatives across teams. The role emphasizes design excellence, governance, and collaboration in a fast-paced retail tech

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Azure cloud and private OpenStack environments.
• Proficient in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience with Unix/Linux, C++, Java, or Node and SOA.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead cross-functional teams.
• Willing to travel up to 10% for business purposes.

Responsibilities

• Design infrastructure solutions for applications and business teams deploying into Azure or the private cloud.
• Serve as both a hands-on engineer and technical architect.
• Architect complex multi-region/availability zone cloud platform solutions.
• Work closely with Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, and internal business partners.
• Help develop and improve infrastructure deployment capabilities through Harness IDP/Infrastructure As Code.
• Ensure solutions meet architecture, security, compliance, and operational standards.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, including FTEs and contractors.
