Job summary

Flosum is seeking a Technical Architect to drive velocity for a cloud-native platform with a 10-15 engineer team. You will lead architecture, performance, and portability across AWS, GCP, and Azure, while shaping technical direction and mentoring engineers.

You will balance delivering roadmap items with system health, on-call hygiene, and developer experience, combining hands-on leadership with people management in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years leading engineering teams
• Deep experience architecting distributed systems on AWS
• Strong Node.js background for scalable services
• Design platform-agnostic systems across hyperscalers
• Track record of improving performance and deployment velocity
• Experience growing engineers and hiring effectively

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the architectural direction of the platform
• Mentor senior engineers and partner with product leadership
• Lead a team of 10-15 developers, set goals, conduct 1:1s, hire, and remove blockers
• Balance roadmap delivery with engineering health, code quality, reliability, and developer experience
