Job summary

Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services seeks a Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Specialist to guide customers adopting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. You will provide prescriptive guidance to maximize value during migrating, building, modernizing, and maintaining applications, collaborating with Product Management and Product Engineering.

We support multiple working locations including Atlanta, Chicago, Toronto, Addison, Miami, and Austin, with travel up to 30% for client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years in networking, compute infra and cloud solutions in virtualized environments.
• 6 years in project management and technical solution delivery.
• Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (Python, Java, Go, C, C++) including data structures and algorithms.
• Ability to travel up to 30% for client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Propose solution architectures and manage deployment of cloud networking solutions per customer requirements and best practices.
• Design and implement cloud-based architectures, migration approaches, and applications optimizations to meet business objectives.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to package approaches and publish assets.
• Coordinate with sales, partners and customer stakeholders to manage scope, priorities, risks, and timelines for clients.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in networking, compute infrastructure (e.g. servers, databases, firewalls, load balancers) and architecting, developing, or maintaining cloud solutions in virtualized environments.
• 6 years of experience in project management and technical solution delivery.
• Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C++) including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, as required, for client engagements.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with one or more third-party networking products (e.g., PANW, Fortinet, VMWare Cloud Foundation).
• Experience in scalable networking design, including high availability, redundancy, failover, and load balancing.
• Experience troubleshooting networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTP/S), and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
• Experience in customer-facing migration, including service discovery, assessment, planning, execution, and operations.
• Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate and key management.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $152000 - $221000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Canada: $170000 - $174000 (CAD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
