Job summary

Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services seeks a Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Specialist to guide customers in adopting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, share best practices, and implement secure, scalable cloud architectures.

You will collaborate with Product Management and Product Engineering to drive product excellence while helping customers migrate, build, and modernize applications to achieve business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS or related field.
• 6 years in networking, compute infrastructure and cloud solutions in virtualized environments.
• 6 years in project management and technical solution delivery.
• Experience coding in Python/Java/Go/C/C++, with knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Ability to travel up to 30% for client engagements.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in networking, compute infrastructure (e.g. servers, databases, firewalls, load balancers) and architecting, developing, or maintaining cloud solutions in virtualized environments.
• 6 years of experience in project management and technical solution delivery.
• Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C++) including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, as required, for client engagements.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with one or more third-party networking products (e.g., PANW, Fortinet, VMWare Cloud Foundation).
• Experience in scalable networking design, including high availability, redundancy, failover, and load balancing.
• Experience troubleshooting networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTP/S), and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
• Experience in customer-facing migration, including service discovery, assessment, planning, execution, and operations.
• Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate and key management.

As a Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Specialist, the role provides technical guidance to customers adopting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. The role also provides prescriptive guidance to ensure customers maximize the value of GCP throughout migrating, building, modernizing, and maintaining applications, while collaborating closely with Product Management and Product Engineering to drive product excellence.

US: $152000 - $221000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
