Job summary

Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services is seeking a Cloud Platforms and Infrastructure Engineer to guide secure foundational cloud implementations and automated provisioning of infrastructure and applications. You will help migrate, build, modernize, and maintain applications in GCP while collaborating with Product Management and Product Engineering.

US salary range listed: 152000 - 222000 USD plus 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience in networking, compute infrastructure and cloud solutions in virtualized environments.
• 6+ years of experience in project management and technical solution delivery.
• Experience coding in one or more general‑purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C, C++).
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time for client engagements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience in networking, compute infrastructure (servers, databases, firewalls, load balancers) and architecting, developing, or maintaining cloud solutions in virtualized environments.
• 6+ years of experience in project management and technical solution delivery.
• Experience coding in one or more general‑purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C, C++), including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time for client engagements.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with third‑party networking products (e.g., PANW, Fortinet, VMWare Cloud Foundation).
• Experience in scalable networking design, including high availability, redundancy, failover, and load balancing.
• Experience troubleshooting networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTPS, and BGP.
• Experience in customer‑facing migration, including service discovery, assessment, planning, execution, and operations.
• Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies such as GKE.
• Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate and key management.
