Job summary

Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services helps customers navigate cloud journeys by leveraging Google’s global network and data centers. As a Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Engineer, you will guide customers through secure foundational cloud implementations, automate provisioning, and architect scalable solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

You will collaborate with product teams to drive excellence in Google Cloud features and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years in networking, compute infra, and cloud solutions in virtualized environments.
• 6 years in project management and technical solution delivery.
• Experience coding in Python/Java/Go/C/C++, with data structures and algorithms.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% for client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Propose solution architectures and manage deployment of cloud networking solutions according to customer requirements and implementation best practices.
• Design and implement Cloud-based technical architectures, migration approaches, and application optimisations that enable business objectives.
• Work with internal specialists, product, and engineering teams to package best practices into methodologies and published assets.
• Interact with sales, partners, and customer technical stakeholders to manage project scope, priorities, deliverables, risks and timelines for successful client outcomes.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in networking, compute infrastructure (e.g. servers, databases, firewalls, load balancers) and architecting, developing, or maintaining cloud solutions in virtualized environments.
• 6 years of experience in project management and technical solution delivery.
• Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C++) including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, as required, for client engagements.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with one or more third‑party networking products (e.g., PANW, Fortinet, VMWare Cloud Foundation).
• Experience in scalable networking design, including high availability, redundancy, failover, and load balancing.
• Experience troubleshooting networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTP/S), and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
• Experience in customer‑facing migration, including service discovery, assessment, planning, execution, and operations.
• Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate and key management.
