Job summary

RegEd is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to provide operational and application database services across on-premise and cloud environments. You will own, track, and resolve database incidents, monitor health, backups, and index management to ensure performance and security.

This role requires 3+ years of DBA experience, strong T-SQL, and familiarity with SQL Server, Azure SQL, SSMS, Grafana, SSIS, and SSRS.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of database administration, development, or equivalent experience.
• Strong T-SQL skills including complex queries, stored procedures, transaction management, error handling, and dynamic SQL.
• Familiarity with Azure SQL MI/DB/VM and cloud database services.
• Experience with database backup, recovery, and high availability concepts.
• Ability to build and maintain SQL scripts, indexes, and complex queries for data analysis and operational use.
• Knowledge of OLTP databases and database monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and maintain database objects in on-premise and cloud environments.
• Monitor backup status, maintenance jobs, index health, and daily operations.
• Manage database user access and security; support compliance requirements.
• Verify backups and support restore testing.
• Investigate incidents including blocking and deadlocks; propose improvements.
• Refresh development and test databases to support QA and development.
• Build and maintain database monitoring infrastructure for alerts and metrics.
• Support database changes and code deployments with architecture teams.
• Provide feasibility studies and effort estimates for new or revised DB systems.
• Install, upgrade, and maintain database instances for development, testing, production.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to implement and maintain code and configurations.
