Job summary

RegEd is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to provide operational and application database services across on-premise and cloud environments. You will own incidents, monitor health, back up data, and support performance and security needs while collaborating with Architecture and QA teams.

The role requires strong SQL Server and T-SQL skills, plus experience with Azure SQL, SSIS/SSRS and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of database administration, development, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or higher.
• Strong T-SQL skills including complex queries, stored procedures, transaction management, error handling, and dynamic SQL.
• Working knowledge of database backup, recovery, and HADR concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud database services in Azure such as Azure SQL MI, Azure SQL DB, or Azure SQL on VMs.
• Experience with database security administration such as user management, role assignment, and access controls.
• Ability to build and maintain SQL scripts, indexes, and complex queries for data analysis and operational use.
• Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices for OLTP environments.
• Commitment to quality and accuracy.
• Familiarity with database monitoring and dashboard tools such as SSMS, Grafana, or similar platforms.
• Experience with SSIS or other ETL tooling.
• Experience with SSRS or other managed reporting platforms.
• Familiarity with other database platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; related work experience can be substituted for education requirement

Responsibilities

• Own, track, and resolve database-related incidents and requests.
• Monitor and maintain database health through backups, maintenance jobs, and index management.
• Support performance and security requirements.
• Design, create, and maintain database objects in on-premise and cloud environments.
• Monitor backup status, maintenance jobs, index health, and daily operational alerts.
• Assist in building and maintaining database monitoring infrastructure.
