What You Will Do
- Manage the Day-to-Day: Oversee the smooth operation of our AWS and Azure environments, ensuring uptime, performance, and security.
- Watch the Budget: Monitor AWS billing, optimize usage, implement right sizing, and schedule automated shutdowns to avoid waste.
- Audit-Ready: Manage patching cycles, document configurations, and produce reports to meet audit and certification standards.
- Be the Fixer: Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and prevent future incidents.
- Monitor Everything: Use tools like Nagios to ensure the health and performance of our cloud-based apps and services.
- Innovate Daily: Use scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash) and automation tools (GitLab, Terraform, Lambda Functions) to enhance scalability and reduce manual work.
- Disaster-Ready: Perform scheduled disaster recovery testing and reporting.
- Support Projects: Fulfill AWS project requests, coordinate resource allocation, and support the deployment of scalable, cloud-first solutions.
- Be the Liaison: Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to deliver efficient and effective cloud services.
Qualifications
Licenses and Certifications:
- Any Cloud based certification such as AWS SysOps, DevOps, or Solution Architect preferred
- Windows or Linux Certified Engineer preferred
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
- Master's Degree preferred
Work Experience
- Minimum of three years’ experience in systems operations and administration, telecommunications network installation, operation and maintenance required
- Experience in enterprise-level IT projects and Cloud-based technologies (PaaS, IaaS, and Cloud Infrastructure Services) required
- Strong communication, analytical skills, and ability to work effectively with clients, technical staff, and vendors required
- Extensive knowledge of AWS technologies and services (e.g., EC2, S3, CloudFormation, VPC, etc.) required
- Familiarity with Networking, Virtualization, Storage, and Cloud Automation required
- Experience with SharePoint & Office 365 required
- Experience supporting cloud migration projects required
- Solid understanding of DNS, Active Directory, LDAP required
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash, AWS CLI) required
- Experience with development tools (Visual Studio Code, Git, GitLab) preferred
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline) preferred
- Experience with application monitoring tools such as Nagios preferred
- Experience deploying web applications using Tomcat preferred
Pay Range
USD $98,200.00 - USD $130,800.00 /Yr.
