Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding seeks an IT professional to analyze, program, configure, test and implement cloud or on-premise software applications in support of business objectives. You may be responsible for part of or all aspects of the application/system life cycle, coordinating with user groups to identify solutions and train end users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with IT project lifecycle and citizen development concepts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, program, configure, test and implement cloud or on-premise software applications to support business objectives.
• Coordinate with user groups to identify solutions that improve business processes; manage upgrades and training.
• Align IT infrastructure with business processes to improve productivity and cost efficiency; develop scripts to automate functionality and conduct user training as needed.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

NNS Apprentice School graduate

Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate

Associate's Degree or other 2 year program + 2 years relevant exempt experience or 4 years relevant non-exempt experience

Military Paygrade E-5 or above

High School/GED + 4 years manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience

High School/GED + 8 years manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience

Relevant professional certification substituted for Bachelor's Degree
