Job summary

Amazon EC2 Instance Networking team develops and operates the software-defined networking stack powering AWS virtual networks and customer security policies. You will write low-level systems code in C and Rust on custom hardware with real-time embedded constraints, shaping traffic for millions of instances.

The role spans hardware, firmware, and software, tackling performance, reliability, and latency at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• Experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications and services.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data plane networking software on custom hardware, end-to-end lifecycle.
• Build and improve network virtualization systems delivering VPC connectivity and security enforcement.
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues across distributed embedded systems.
• Collaborate with hardware, control plane, and ML platforms to deliver end-to-end solutions.
